"This is a YA read, but adults will also enjoy and learn from this fast-paced book. I started it with every intention of reading a few chapters before bed. Five hours later I had devoured the entire book. The characters are beautifully flawed and I found myself cheering for them when they couldn’t cheer for themselves. There are some hard, but real, issues addressed in this book. I appreciate that Beckie Lindsey addresses topics that are often ignored and spotlights the reality that there is more going on that what we may ever see with our eyes. This is a great read for teens who are fighting their own battles, as well as adults who would like insight into the struggles of today’s teens and young adults face."

Creating Your Manifesto

Finding Hope in Postmonments
Saturday was my first grandchild’s first birthday. The party had to be postponed due to something no one would have predicted when it was originally planned— A worldwide pandemic. On Saint Patrick’s Day, my husband Scott and I celebrated our 30th wedding...

Lessons from the ER
My husband, Scott had a tonsillectomy last Monday. If you’ve had your tonsils removed, I bet the memory triggers something akin to post-traumatic stress as your hand spontaneously rubs your throat. Yeah, it’s no picnic. And I don’t care what they say, but no amount of...
TO JUDGE OR NOT TO JUDGE?
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.” (Matthew 7:1) Have you noticed that most people are familiar with this scripture (Christian or not) and quote it if they feel they are being judged? Many people conclude that making judgments on anyone—especially...
How To Accept Others as Christ Accepted Us
“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:7 The command here is to accept others the way Christ Jesus accepted us. Uh-huh, that's a tall order to ask of mere human beings. Not to mention, navigating the...
Are Negative Thoughts Controlling Your Life?
I found myself doing it again—repeating the same negative thoughts over and over like a broken record. Have you ever caught yourself doing that? Or maybe you suddenly become aware of ugly subconscious thoughts. Those are the sneaky insidious ones. Recently, out of the...
Do you think you need more faith? Here’s what you really need …
I recall a family day at the swimming pool when my daughter, Charity, was only three years old. She stood near the edge of the pool, sporting her new ‘floaties’ on her cherub arms and watched her daddy dive into the water. Arms and legs flailing, her two older...
