Life is a series of peaks and valleys. For many of us, 2020 has seemed like one enormous valley.
“There’s a season for everything under the sun” according to the wisdom of King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes.
That means we have hope this season of difficulty will not last forever.
Truth be told, many of God’s greatest blessings come during the midst of trials. We can learn a lot during hard times which is a great blessing in itself. Another truth is, we must be looking for them.
“Facing difficulties is inevitable, learning from them is optional” – John Maxwell
One big lesson I have learned through trials is to count my daily blessings which I record in my journal. Let me tell you, in the weeks following the tragic death of my brother and sister-in-law earlier this year, it was a challenge. But I found that even in the throes of grief,
There is always a blessing—something to be grateful to God for.
It might be something simple like a night of uninterrupted sleep. But that’s a blessing, nonetheless. If nothing else, every single day we all enjoy the greatest blessing of all: Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins!
During this difficult season, I’m choosing to celebrate blessings.
I’m even going to have a party to celebrate one major blessing in my life and YOU are invited!
I’ve had the incredible blessing of publishing the Beauties from Ashes series which has been a life-long dream. Awakening (book four) recently released on Amazon and is still ranking #1 in various new release categories!
The book launch party for Awakening (book 4) is this Thursday, September 24 on Facebook Live!

Not only has God blessed me in writing the BFA series, but He is also using the books to point readers toward His redeeming love and grace (Click HERE to read about the series).
Here are a few reviews, I have received from readers.
In 20 years of serving as a senior pastor and student pastor, I have focused a lot of energy into trying to explain the deception of this world and the great spiritual war we are caught in the midst of here on earth. And the resource I have referred my congregation and youth group to has been C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters. Over and over again I have begged people to check it out, but they come back overwhelmed. Now I have a resource to put in their hands that can be understood. It’s the Screwtape Letters in the modern world—Beckie Lindsey’s Secrets. ~ Jake McCandless
This powerful story will remind you that you do not battle against yourself or other people, but against the devil. Read it with the lights on. Then, rest peacefully, knowing that God loves you and protects you. —Ashley Jones, author
I get tears in my eyes knowing God is using these stories! I also thank God for using this blog to encourage and guide others toward the wisdom found in His Word.
YOU, dear reader, are a blessing to me!
In what ways has God been blessing you during these “challenging times?”
Sharing what God is doing in your life shines hope into the lives of others.
I’d love to hear some of your blessings in the comments below.
Much love and Blessings!
Love, Beckie
P.S. Hope to see you at the book launch party!

This is something to celebrate! I ordered a hard copy of the book and I’m almost finished reading. It’s fantastic! Such an honor to be on the launch team, to know you and call you friend, Beckie!
Karen, I’m truly grateful for and blessed by YOU, sweet friend. I’m so glad you are enjoying the book!
Like you sweet friend, we have to sometimes “dig deep” to find a reason to celebrate and be thankful. Such a difficult thing to do in a season of grief over the loss of a loved one. My reason for thankfulness, gratefulness, and celebration today is knowing that I will see my beloved friend again in heaven’s glory. Thank you for this timely reminder to always look to God with expectant celebration. It’s called “Hope.”
I hear you, JD. I’m so grateful for the comfort the Lord has brought us during the season of loss. Thanks for always lifting my spirits!
Beckie, as you are on the west coast, and I’m on the east, the timing of your amazing book launch is not suitable to my getting-older schedule. I’m usually in bed before ten! I know, what a party-pooper! But you know that my support and love is behind you, 100%, and I can’t wait to review your latest book on my blog. God has given you such an incredible gift, and you are using it to His glory. What could be better?
Love and blessings to you and yours!
Martha, I know there’s a time difference and completely understand. I set the party at 5:30 Pacific time for my friends in other time zones.
I appreciate your support throughout this series. But more than anything, I’m grateful for your friendship and prayers.
Blessings to you and yours!
“Truth be told, many of God’s greatest blessings come during the midst of trials.”
You said a mouthful of truth there Beckie. 2020 has been a year where God is turning the unprepared upside down so they can decide if they want to be rightside up. We need this if we are ever to face reality and see that our faith must go deeper than mere profession to an actually living out of our faith. Until we recognize that God is the One who has our world upside down we will not recognize the blessings therein and the great love He is showing us by shaking things up.
Amen, Homer Les! Thanks for taking the time to share. I’ll have to check out your podcast.
