Here’s a question: do you ever wonder how God feels about you? Do you think He’s mad or sad or disappointed? If so, you’re not alone. Many people feel this way—even Christians.
I want to tell you something. GOD LOVES YOU and all people (John 3:16, 1 John 2:2; 4:8,16 Romans 3:23).
No matter what you have done
God loves you
Before you were born
God loves you
Right this very moment
God loves you
5 Things To Know About God’s Heart Towards You
1. YOU ARE WANTED
God didn’t need to create people. He wanted to. “The God who made the world and everything in it … is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything” (Acts 17:24-25).
God wanted you.
We read in Genesis 1:27 that God created men and women in his own image. You are special because nothing else in all His creation is made in His image.
2. YOU ARE LOVED
God created you out of His great love.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). Yes, God loved us before he even created us.
“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
3. GOD WANTS TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20
In this verse, Jesus is giving us an idea of the kind of close relationship that He desires to share with all people. He wants us to recognize his voice, open the door and invite him in. Once inside, He will sit down, enjoy a meal, and fellowship with us ONE TO ONE. How fantastic!
4. GOD OFFERS MERCY AND FORGIVENESS TO YOU
“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:4-5
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8
Let’s face it, we all make mistakes. Some of those mistakes can leave us feeling unlovable and possibly unforgivable. This is just not the case with God. He offers us forgiveness and mercy. The only thing He asks is that we admit our mistakes (sin) to Him and ask for healing to move forward from those mistakes. Of course, this doesn’t give us a license to continue knowingly in sin.
5. YOU ARE PART OF GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN
The Bible tells that even before God created Adam and Eve, He knew that they and everyone after them would sin. Amazingly, He had already formulated a plan to redeem fallen humanity through Jesus.
“For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 1:9
The fall of Adam didn’t catch God by surprise. Neither did your fall or my fall. God knew we would sin, and He also knew who would repent and believe in the Lord Jesus.
Perhaps the most important part we play in God’s eternal plan is to point people to eternal life with God—through his Son Jesus Christ. The Bible calls this our “ministry of reconciliation.”
“And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19
What an amazing opportunity! God makes us part of the family business—that is, if we choose to be. God leaves the choice up to us.
The invitation to enter into a relationship with God through Jesus is for everyone because God’s heart towards people is LOVE.
Let me sum this up for you.
YOU ARE WANTED BY GOD
YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD
GOD WANTS TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU
GOD OFFERS MERCY AND FORGIVENESS TO YOU
YOU ARE PART OF GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN
Now here’s the kicker: Do you believe this? I mean really, really believe it. Do you live like you are beloved by God? Or do you struggle with thoughts like, “Can he really love a train wreck like me?”
Please hear me out. No matter what’s going on in your life, or in your thoughts, this fact remains the same:
GOD LOVES YOU RIGHT NOW, RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, NO MATTER WHAT.
Please don’t waste another minute thinking otherwise.
YOUR TURN: Do you believe what you’ve read today? Did you need to be reminded? Let me know in the comments below.

So true. God loves us absolutely. Thanks Beckie for sharing.
It never ceases to boggle my mind when I try to wrap it around the fact that God loves me, and everyone, so much. What a blessing and a comfort!
Thanks for reminding us of this, Beckie!
I’m with you, Martha! I wrote the post to remind myself just as much as the readers.
This is so amazing. I love your succinctness. I especially love that God wants to spend time with me. Thanks for this, Amy
Amy, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Blessings!
There’s a song that was pretty popular a few years ago called “Never Alone” and the singer talked about how she didn’t feel God’s presence, and yet she drew comfort from knowing God was always present in spite of how we might feel. Your post reminded me of that song. In our darkest moments we are tempted to feel abandoned, but the reality is he is there, counting our tears and enfolding us in his presence.
Elihu, How comforting to know that our God is always with us, even counting our tears. Thanks for sharing.
Wow this is a grabber post for sure, Beckie. Yes, in small ways, I needed to be reminded. Thank you.
Molly Jo, I need to remind myself of God’s love regularly. Writing this post was another way to do that. I’m grateful if it leads anyone closer to an understanding of how wide and long and wide and deep is the love of Christ. (Ephesians 13:14-21)
Blessings!
Thank you, Beckie. Oh, that Christians and people everywhere would truly believe and receive God’s great love to us as shown in the Person and power of Jesus’ Name.
Amen, Mary!Thanks for commenting.
Amazing! love this. Thanks so much for this reminder & I pray that God will always remind you how precious you are in his eyes. 🙂
Lately I’ve been reading psalm 139 a few times a week and it’s so powerful. It tells us just how much God knows us and loves us. It always bring me comfort that I’m not out of Gods sight or his mind.
Again , thanks!! God bless youuu
Neli, Aaw—Pslam 139 is a favorite for sure! Thanks for sharing. I think I’ll take some time to meditate on those beautiful verses too.
Good job my friend! Love it ❤️
All I can muster is a simple thank you. In my weariness, these truths are a soft pillow.
Thanks for commenting. I’m so honored that the Lord uses anything I put out on this blog or any writing that I do.
This is so true…I had a conversation Saturday night about this very thing. God does loves us more than we can imagine…and he proves it more and more!
Beautiful truth written here! I know all of these things in my head, but they don’t always make it down to my heart. It is a journey and a process to get there. So thankful for all He has redeemed me from and beyond grateful that I can call Him my Daddy. Mind blowing that I am part of His eternal plan. Thanks for the great post. 🙂
I know what you mean. As I was writing the post, I felt the Lord asking me, “Do YOU believe what you’re writing?” I’ll have to admit, there are days when I don’t ‘feel’ lovable. Those are the days that I need to remember His the promises of His word: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness!
Thanks for your encouraging comments. Blessings!
Excellent post! On the days my “feelings” catch me or I hear the nasty ol’ whisper negative in my hear, I remind myself of verse in Genesis 24:23. “Please tell me whose daughter you are?” I am the daughter of the Most High God, King of kings, the Great I AM and He sent His Beloved Son Jesus for me! Boy oh boy, that gets me off my “feelings” and on to the love He has for me!! Good News of Jesus! Blessings!
Perfect word from God! Thanks for sharing.
God’s heart toward us is, so pure. You have chosen beautiful reasons why we should always be reminded. Beautiful reminder, Beckie. Thanks for sharing this encouraging piece. God bless you, my friend.
