There are invisible realities at work all around us.

My oldest son, Kevin, recently re-enlisted in the US Air Force and is also training for a new career in Spectrum Operations.
Kevin is becoming more familiar with the invisible electromagnetic field of radio, TV signals, WiFi, and more.
Our modern daily lives depend upon the unseen electromagnetic field, and yet it is something we don’t often think about … unless our WiFi isn’t working, that is.

There is another unseen reality that is also part of our daily lives: spiritual warfare.

To our detriment, this is another thing we don’t think about often enough.
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 (emphasis mine)
In my fictional series Beauties from Ashes (BFA), I attempt to “pull back the curtain” on the activities of these invisible evil spirits and how they affect us.
I write about relatable characters with difficult issues and traumatic pasts to enlighten readers about the unseen spiritual battle referred to in Scripture. Each character has a secret that has left them vulnerable to the battle in an invisible realm where demonic creatures fight to keep them chained to their pasts and angels of light work to free them.
The characters and their issues are complex, just like real life. In fact, some of the topics are often considered too taboo to talk about openly—issues like sexual abuse, depression, suicide, addictions, and abortion. But what is left in the dark, festers and grows. It is only in the light that we can be free. In the BFA series, readers experience the character’s quest for truth, love, grace, and freedom while hopefully finding the same for themselves.

Our culture is dying for truth, real love, grace, and freedom.

So, of course, the devil is going to twist all things sacred which is what we have seen accelerated on social media.
Please read below a post on Instagram from one of my eighteen-year-old readers. We are uncertain of the original author.

This is evidence of the unseen evil forces at work in our modern culture and new generation—manipulating, twisting, and maligning the truth while hardening hearts and blinding eyes.
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”
2 Timothy 3:1-5

As the time for Christ’s return grows closer, the devil and his evil spirits are hard at work with two main goals:

  • Keep the non-Christian from accepting by faith the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
  • Keep believers weak in their faith and chained to their pasts.

But take heart, the Lord did not leave us alone to fight the battle with the devil.
God gave us His powerful Holy Spirit. The same power that rose Jesus from the dead is available to Christians! And we have special weapons that are not of this world—weapons with divine power to demolish the strongholds of the enemy! (Ephesians 1:19-21; 6:10-18; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
This means we must Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)
As the world around us grows colder and more adverse to biblical truths, we are called to be courageous lights. We have nothing to fear, for we know the end of the story:
GOD WINS!
Pray with me—
Father God,
You are mighty and powerful while full of grace and love. No one is greater than You! Fill us with your Holy Spirit, giving us spiritual eyes to see the schemes of the enemy. Forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And do not lead let us yield to temptation. Give us the courage to stand up courageously for Your truth even when it isn’t popular. Please put Your holy angels around us to help point us to Your love and guidance. Thank you for providing heavenly armor to protect us. Help us remember to put it on daily.
In the name of Jesus, AMEN.
Blessings on you and yours!
Love,
Beckie
