Do you want to know that your plans and hard work are going to pan out? Of course, you do! We all have this desire. Well, there is a way. But I must warn you, the way I’m referring to has only one narrow path. Many have attempted down this road and turned back. But if you wish to give it a try, you will be in good company. The most revered sages of the ages have successfully traveled this road—King David, his son Solomon, and Martin Luther, to name a few.
Another thing I should warn you about is the price of taking the narrow path. Yes, there is a price. Come on, you know that anything worth having costs us something. So, naturally having the peace of knowing that all your plans are going to work out for the good, will cost you. How much? Everything.
Now, hold on. I know it sounds daunting. Or perhaps you’re thinking, ‘impossible’. I assure you, not only is it possible, there will be help along the way. How do I know this? Because nothing is impossible with God. Notice how the Scripture below says if you commit your way to the Lord and trust in Him, then He will act. Did you catch that? The Almighty Creator of the universe will act for little ole’ you and me if we commit ALL of our ways to Him.
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him and He will act.”
Psalm 37:5
You see, our God is a God of wholeness and completeness. When He starts something, He will always finish it. If someone He loves is broken or lacking, He desires to heal and put them back together. No one else is capable of this. No one.
The only way to secure successful plans is down the road called Submission. Remember, God is a God of completeness. He wants ALL of us so that He can accomplish ALL that He has planned for us. If we withhold parts of ourselves, we are cutting ourselves short of something better. And God’s better is always best!
Although it may not come easy at first to give over our lives and plans to God when we do there is a peace like no other on earth. So, what are you waiting for?
You have a choice. Trust God with the future or trust your yourself.
Here are a few more Scriptures to meditate on as we learn to trust God with our future. I suggested picking a few that speak to you and memorizing them. When you are feeling doubtful (and we all are at times), recite the Scripture and watch how God’s peace replaces doubt!
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21
“But I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, ‘You are my God!’” Psalm 31:14
“I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.” Psalm 130:5

Beckie — I like this post. Where was this 20 years ago — lol.
I made some lousy calls when I tried to make things happen. When I finally let God take over is when all the wonderful events started to take place .
What you said in the post is true
“You have a choice. Trust God with the future or trust your yourself.”
I choose to trust God cause he knows what he’s doing —
Del
Del, I didn’t understand this 20 years ago either! In fact, I’m still working on it. So glad God is patient 🙂
Thanks, my friend!
YES! I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.
He is so faithful I know I can trust Him because He has never let me down.
Love it Beckie thank you!
Eve
Eve, He has never let me down, either, my friend!
Thanks for confirming the Lord can be trusted.
Sure, everyone relates to wanting their plans to succeed. Love this, Beckie. “The only way to secure successful plans is down the road called Submission. Remember, God is a God of completeness.” That’s it in a nutshell.
Karen, An old hymn came to mind as I was reading your comment:
” ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. Just to take him at his word. Just to rest upon His promise, Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him. How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er. Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus. O for grace to trust Him more.”
Amen, Beckie! The only way God’s plans for us will succeed is to submit to Him and His will for our lives. I hate looking back on the times when I thought my way was the highway, but I take comfort in knowing God has forgiven my indiscretions, and is now leading me safely onto the path He provides in love and endless generosity.
Blessings, my friend!
Isaiah 46:10 says, “From the beginning I foretell the outcome,And from long ago the things that have not yet been done. I say, ‘My decision will stand,And I will do whatever I please”. I’ve always believed in Jehovah God’s power to not just know the future but to affect the outcome. He promises to take care of his servants if they “put first the Kingdom” (Matthew 6:33). I just read an article about what the future holds and that’s always on my mind with the state of this world. Here’s a link https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&issue=2018-05&pub=wp18&srcid=share
Heather Jo, thanks for taking the time to share a Scripture and article.
Blessings to you!
